Laws
This great country of ours is a place built upon laws. Yet, it seems that some people think they are above the law. People commit crimes and expect to get away with it. Our jails are full of such people. My concern is LAW MAKERS who want to disregard laws.
Recently GA congresswoman Cynthia McKinney assaulted a Capitol Hill Police officer. After several days of trying to play the victim she made an apology on the Congress floor. It wasn't an apology to the man she hit repeatedly, but saying she is sorry the incident happened.
McKinney, in her usual fashion claimed racism. She claims the officer targeted her when asking for ID, when in reality the officer was just doing his job, which is too keep the office building safe.
Now that she has made a feeble apology, she thinks she has paid for her actions. So, here we have a law maker, who broke the law, and seems to feel she is above the penalty for such actions. If you or I assaulted an officer, making an apology to a room of friends would not be our penalty and it should not be hers.
The other law breaking issue facing our nation is illegal immigration. There are millions of people who have invaded our country illegally. There are many plans of action being considered. I say WHY? Their very first action in our country was breaking the law! They should not get any special treatment. They are criminals. There has been discussion about giving them special work permits, yet there is already a procedure for obtaining a work visa. Why should these law breakers be given special treatment? Why are taxpayer dollars being spent to even discuss how to treat them? SEND THEM HOME!
Many of these people have been taking part in protests, flying the Mexican flag. If they feel so strongly about their homeland....Then go HOME. Yet again with this situation....Tax payer dollars are being spent to police these protests.
I really don't understand what is happening to my country when laws just don't seem to matter anymore.
