Spring Fun

Buddy at the water's edge

Joe and I took some of the dogs down to the lake today. I could not believe how high the water was. Some areas are still flooded. There was no beach. The water came right up to where the grass ends and the beach starts.

We took Buddy and Furby, who are both experienced at going down to the lake. We also took Mila and Freddy. This was their first time going down.

We let the dogs run off leash, but when we first went down I had to keep a good hold on Buddy because there were some geese on land. We had to wait until they got a good ways out into the water before we could let him go.

They all had a great time. We knew it was time to leave when Furby ran up and jumped in the back of the Bronco. =)

Fresh Air For The Kitties

Late last summer we screened in the deck for the cats. Our cats are indoor only cats because it is much safer that way. The screen porch gives them a chance to spend time outdoors, get fresh air and watch the birds in a safe environment. My kitties love it out there! I open the door as soon as it warms up enough in the morning, and they stay out there all day until I finally drag them in at night.

I wish we would have done it sooner.

Bailey is 5 months old today

Bailey is 5 months old today. We had our first really nice day today, it got to 80 degrees! It was a nice day to take the dogs out and let them romp around. Bailey acts like the yard is a new place now that the snow has melted. I am sure there are plenty of new scents that were trapped beneath the blanket of white and he is just discovering for the first time.

I love the way his ears bounce up and down as he runs. I love watching him as he discovers a left over leaf from fall. I can't believe how fast he has grown right before my eyes. Pretty soon he will have outgrown being a puppy, and the world will no longer be a place full of new discoveries.
